  1. Employment Guarantee Act
    The popular perception about employment scheme is that :

    • They are an effective instrument for removal of poverty.
    • But most important lesson thrown by the experience of Maharashtra employment guarantee scheme is, at best, it can be one of many ways to tackle poverty.
    • The Govt. should pinpoint the nature of work under the proposed hundred days employment scheme.
    • Issues like financing and resources, division of financial burden between the states & the centre as well as implementation will have to be thoroughly discussed.
    • The scheme should not be limited to rural belts alone, but should be extended to urban areas also.

Officially there are 3 crore educated unemployed youth from Rural areas registered with the employment exchanges across the country.

This Problem of unemployment and under employment must be tackled on a war footing.
